Soon, well, almost immediately afterwards, the night became filled with the song of frog! I should understand the lyrics by now. I imagine they must be quite simple cause they are definitely repititious. I suspect that the night long chorus translated would be:
"BABIES! BABIES! BABIES! We gotta make BABIIIIEEEEESSSS! HEY YOU! LET'S MAKE SOME BABIES TO SWIM AROUND IN ALL THIS HUMAN FOOD!!! BABIES! BABIES! BABIES! "

It's a good thing I acutally like the noise because there's not much I can do about it. Even with all doors and windows and closed, I still hear them unless I have earplugs in or I have the AC blasting air full power. I am lucky the my mother has always been a fish (specifically Koi or 鯉) pond fanatic, because if I had not grown up with frogs singing me to sleep at night, I might not be able to sleep well now. At least they have eaten most of the mosquitos in the area, and after having French roomates and friends for a few years, I know how to cook one of them up should my fridge ever run out of sandwich material.
Mmmmmmm...
