変化

変化(henka) means change in Japanese, and March is definitely a time of change in Japan. March is the end of the school year here, and I had to say goodbye to one of the best groups of kids in the world recently. These kids were in the 8th grade, and going on to high school now, but they wanted a picture of us together. I knew we were taking pictures that day, so I wore my graduation fish tie. He is a “Rainbow Trout” and I wore him to my own high school graduation in 1992. Good thing he doesn't smell real, cause a fifteen year old fish might be kind of rank. Their names are, left to right, Shoko, Eri, Takako, Yasu (the tall boy), Hide (the taller boy), Yukari, Kasumi and Sayumi. Their buttons don't usually glow, that's just the flash. And YES the 14 or 15 year-old boys are taller than me. But, I happen to know I can beat them at arm wrestling cause we tried. Heh.
Ta ta,
Erich
