I went to a game center with some friends in Japan, namely Misato, Seiya and Remi (the girl wearing the silly Engrish shirt from the last entry) and we stayed just about all day. It was hot as hell outside, and the temperature inside depended on the floor you were one. The top floor was the hottest, which was fitting because that was where the most physical activity took place.
Each floor had a specialty, and the top floor had a batting range, a tennis court, a basketball court, a mini soccer field and a small archery range. The pictures are all loaded onto Flickr and you can see them here. Other floors had bowling, rollerskating, mini bikes to ride in the roller skating rink (but not at the same time as people were roller skating) a ton of video games, a second floor for games that is only made up of pachinko games, a planetarium, a fleet of massage chairs (the best game ever) and even a mechanical bull (that Misato is riding in the small video below). You dont have to put money into the video games after you pay the cover charge to get in, and you can limit your ticket to just two or three floors.
From Nintendo to Playstation, nobody takes gaming as seriously as the Japanese, and these pictures provide a little proof.
